As members of BACP we operate to their strict code of ethics and practice, which includes having a minimum of 1½ hours supervision per month. Supervision is for the benefit of the client, to ensure they are getting the best service and is with a BACP/or UKCP registered/accredited therapist. After a counsellor/psychotherapist has completed all their training & been practicing to the minimum BACP requirements for a minimum of 3 years, they can apply for BACP Accreditation with submission of their portfolio providing evidence that they meet all the criteria. Once a therapist is accredited, they must undertake CPD (Continuing Professional Development) each year to satisfy renewal of accreditation. Katie obtained her accreditation December 2003, whilst Donna & Des as members of BACP are currently working towards this position. |
